DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE WILL BYPASS THE BIOMETRICS THIS GO AROUND???? I would have thought that the Bio would have been done before I would have received a letter like this. I look forward to the replies by all the good people here at VJ. Thank you in advance- Vespa

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: **************

Application Type: N400 , APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On June 2, 2011, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. Please check the website for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.

If you took your fingerprints recently they could use the one they have on file. Pero es mejor que estes preparada(o) a que existe la posibilidad de que te tomen las huellas el dia de la entrevista.

Good luck!

Biometrics was taken last year when "conditions were lifted" so, you are suggesting that we MAY not need to have biometrics taken again because they use the most recent? Then why pay the biometrics fee again? Can someoone please clarify? Thank you in advance- Vespa

Yes you may have paid just for them to retrieve your old fingerprints results from the computer but I doubt it. I've heard some people that receive the interview letter first and then at the interview they had their FP taken. I hope somebody can give you a more detailed input about your inquiry.

Thank you for your insight. I would not be surprised if you are correct, because it makes perfect sense to charge for biometrics for three different applications. Fraud, waste and abuse, that is what the military calls it..

When did you take your Finger Print Last year??, If it's less than 12 month than probably you will not need to have finger print taken. some people had the same thing happened to them, but on the day of the interview they took the finger print, because the one on their file was expired.

Good Luck

That's not actually your interview letter. It's just a letter telling you that they received your file and everything is done except now they're just waiting for your interview to be scheduled before anything else is done. Fun fun!

I have also heard if you did the biometrics less than 12 months ago you don't have to do them again and I see from your timeline yours were done on the 10th August so less than a year so yay for you!

Thank you for the reply. I knew it wasn't the interview letter, but I just found it odd that I would receive notification that we were scheduled to be scheduled without fingerprints. Highway robbery!! Yes, it has been less than a year since biometrics, and that fact should have saved me a few bucks. So now I wait to receive the interview appointment, and then maybe they take another fingerprint... Stay tuned...
