So today is ONE YEAR since we applied for AOS adjusting from F-1. We had our interview 8 months ago. So my husband thought it would be a great idea to make an infopass today, didnt turn out to be promising at all :-( All the immigration officer did was look at the computer, asked for my A# and tell us that my file was with a supervisor. My husband asked to speak to the supervisor but the IO said that is not allowed and if we wanted we could write a letter to the supervisor-which we've already done. So far we've take 3 other infopasses, our lawyer has too, contacted our congressman and both of the senators here, written a letter to the supervisor & written a letter to CIS Ombudsman and taken 2 service requests. All we got from the ombudsman is the same as everyone else, that our case is with a supervisor.

I sure do hope that no one has to go through what we've had to go through. This process is a pain, and not to think how emotional draining it can be! It saddens me that we people who are willing to pay and do it the right way are given such a hard time.

I also SURE hope that no one else has to pass through ST LOUIS Immigration office and if they do, hopefully their file does not end up with a SUPERVISOR by the name of ALAN JOHNSON!!!! My husband and i both think our file was just forgotten, left to collect dust !!!, since our case is so straight forward and we cannot understand why its taking this long. So we've decided to write letters to the following people:

1. USCIS District Director

2. The secretary of the Departemnt of Homeland Security

3. The Attorney General

4. The Director of the FBI

5. The White House

We sure do hope this will give us some response. If not, then we shall wait it out till our second year anniversary then we will SUE them so then they will give us a 10 year GC instead.

Thanks for listening to my venting.

Sorry you are going through this. I can not imagine how frustrating this is for you.

Sounds like you are doing all you can. I just want to point out that sending the letters to the places you mentioned will not do any good. Talk about dust collecting. It is not the business of the Attorney General, The FBI, nor the White House to deal with such matters. It will be filed in cabinet 13. Use your energy more constructively. Maybe the case is not as "straightforward" as it appears. Unfortunately, there is not a "watch dog" group that keeps up with the USCIS. They are fairly well self governed and protected.

However, do look on the bright side and realize you are together. There are many people who are apart and going through the strains of time waiting for responses, approvals, etc...... You get to sleep with your husband at night.

Good Luck and best wishes

Thanks for the reply. We know those letters might do nothing, but at this point we are so willing to try anything since we've exhausted all other means. Its true we get to sleep in the same bed at night but who am I to compare myself with others?? Everyone have their own battles and I do feel sad for the ones who are not together but this had been going on for a long time that it's really making us stressed. The case might big be as straight forward as we think but surely a year? And it seems it might be more. There are 2 people on this board that have been waiting for longer than me and their files are in the same office with the same supervisor! Makes us think it's a case of forgotten cases or overworked supervisors.

Yes, possibly so. Just stay on top with constant questioning and phone calls. Even bug the constituent advocate that you should be dealing with from one of the Congressman or Senator's office. Sorry about your ordeal, I hope it ends soon.

I will for sure bug my senator/congressman and see if the can inquire again as it has been a couple of months since they inquired. I will also make service requests when am able to again which should be around June 28th since they told me I could not make another until 6 months were over. I will also call the Ombudsman as they told me in a letter to contact them if I didn't hear anything after 45 days.

Thanks for the reply , will for sure post my good news when I get them :-)
