You book your interview online here: http://canada.usvisa-info.com. HOWEVER, you cannot book your interview until you receive a case number and packet 4 has been logged. You still have a little while to go!

You have a case number on your NOA2, right? You can start calling Department of State to inquire about the status of your paperwork. Once it's at the consulate you can start calling to ask about packet 3 and packet 4. I don't know if Vancouver is like Montreal, but IF it is you can send back the paperwork for packet 3 as soon as packet 3 has been mailed out. You don't have to physically receive it. Then, Vancouver will receive packet 3, review it, and if all is well they'll send you packet 4. When DoS tells you packet 4 has been logged and you're eligible to book an interview you can.

I hope you keep us updated on your trip through the Vancouver embassy! The majority of Canadian VJers seem to be going to Montreal and I am supposed to be headed to Vancouver (Any day now, VSC... any day now... :() so I'd appreciate a recent firsthand experience of someone going through Vancouver. :)

At the top you see REVIEWS or do a search on VJ. Believe me, most would rather be going to Van, as it is much faster

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I just booked my Vancouver interview today. They are booking about 3-4 weeks out, the soonest was 22 days away (eeks!). Everything so far with dealing with Vancouver and Woking has been pretty painless and extremely quick. With the postal strike, I asked for all my documents by email and they did so right away :)

Vancouver is the best! Very laid back and nice. The interview was more like a conversation than anything. My husband's interview was last April, but I'm sure they are still the same. Woking medical was just as nice. Both places were fast and easy. Be extra prepared just in case, always better to be over prepared than under prepared. Just relax and remember to breathe!!
