When teachers asked that unhealthy options be curtailed from the lunch menu- at least in my school, school admin would usually justify the vending machines as profitable and ####### food served as cost effective. Maybe what we need is to have all food items removed from school grounds to 'save money' and screw the free lunchers right? Is that what this is really about?

If you really stop and think about it, it's absurd for the school to be responsible for feeding your children...

Sack lunches for everyone!

You're not really surprising me.

Like others here have told you, its not about responsibility in feeding- its about educating to make sound choices. If you want the responsibility, then ensure you pack for your kids a good lunch and GTFO of other kids' lunches. Isn't that your motto in life anyway? Always the loner...

It's not the school's job to educate a child on what to eat and what not to eat.

The last time I checked, this was part of science class, not the lunch room. Of course with the elimination of the food pyramid, I suppose science class just because useless in this area...

I read the complete sentence. You are wrong Paul

That's your opinion.

If you feel that schools can educate your kids on nutrition better than you, than so be it. That doesn't mean that works for everyone.

Lets revisit this suggestion that schools not get involved in educating students about diet.

Yeah. Fail.

That's your opinion.

Based on your posted history of scientific and nutritional knowledge, I think I'd rather take my chances with entrusting a school curriculum designed by nutritionists.
