Today I went in for an infopass appointment to verify that my online change of address was successful. Turns out the online form worked exactly as expected and that they had my new address on file.

I also had the bonus news that as of yesterday (2/28), my case was actually being reviewed by someone and that I should expect the decision in the mail within 30 days. The gentlemen behind the counter also informed me that moving during the lifting conditions process often results in a slight delay in processing. He didn't suggest a service request or anything like that, but simply to wait for the decision or make another infopass appointment if I didn't get anything in the mail next month.

The moral of the story is -- making an infopass appointment is painless and very much worthwhile if you can go. You don't have to stay on the line on hold to talk to someone and all you have to do is show up at the appointed time. I definitely felt that it gave me peace of mind to talk to someone in person.

I was also wondering about that. However, I expected something like this will happen due to either of 2 possible reasons. Both reasons are based on the fact that June 2011 has the highest number of I-751 applicants (15124)in FOREVER. The month of May had just 10774 applicants (June has 50% more applicants than May)

1) Due to the high number of applicants in June, the VJ population might not be a good representative sample of the VSC applicants for June

2) These last few days that we haven't seen any new approval represents the time VSC is using to send applications to local offices to help reduce their massive bulk of applications for the month of June.

I suspect this number 2 option is the most likely option, especially as we see more and more approvals coming from the local offices.

Ok, my card was approved Feb 18. I received the letter in the mail as I shared previously here. Today, March 1, USCIS.gov website updated and it now says (for my status):

On March 1, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

No circles were darkened. It still says in the top banner

Your Current Case Status for Form CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Just letting y'all know how it goes, for me at least....what to expect. Received the e-mail notification just now too, as I was writing this.

Woohoo! I got my email, and letter today. The date of decision on it is 02-27.

I'm very excited and hope the card arrives soon.

(the letter came from the San Antonio office, though I filed with VSC)
