I filed in June and I still have not received my biometrics request from them. I just got the 'this may take a year' letter. What do you think I should do?

you really might want want to call the customer service line and ask to speak to a tier 2 representative. its not terribly common to wait 6 months for a biometrics appointment. they cant move forward with your case processing without it.

what is your local service center?

edit: i see that its tucson. is it a traditionally busy place?

I went down there once because it took longer than normal for my interview as well and it was not all that busy. I will make an appointment to go down there. I just thought I was doing the 'right' thing by being patient and waiting.

try the customer service #. they will probably put in a service request to address the issue.

I just tried the phone number and I guess because it's labor day all they have is the automated system. Both on the USCIS website and the automated phone system have no record of my receipt number. After we sent the I-751 package with evidence we received the form I-797C Notice of Action. The letter extends my green card for a year.

at the bottom of the NOA it says 'upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case online', so I'm hoping that it's not a horrible sign something has gone wrong with my case because no info is online, seeing as how I haven't even gotten the ASC appointment notice. Hopefully.

the number you need to check your status is derived from the biometrics letter. it is different from the number on your extension letter. since you dont have a biometrics letter, you cant check the status. its likely that the tier 1 operator you will get tomorrow will also be stumped. ask to speak to a tier 2 person (a supervisor and immigration officer). they will have broader access to the systems and may be able to help.

what does the most recent correspondence from USCIS say? could be important.

The only letter I have received from USCIS is the I-797C NOA, I assumed because it extends the green card for a year that that is how long ROC could take...

We got an RFE for more evidence of our relationship. I'm a bit surprised we did honestly considering I sent them pretty much everything they are now requesting previously.

We don't have kids so I cant send birth certificates and we don't own a house or have any debt that I can show mutual loans. So I guess I just resend them everything I sent before. *shrug*

Anyone else get an RFE like this? I honestly don't know what else to send them that they don't already have except a bank account with a years more savings.

Ok I got RFE last week were sending everything the end of this week. We don't have kids. Were sending lease document for our house( rent) were sending all kind of utilities bills) bank statement, income tax for the past 3 years, affidavits, and they asked for my W2. So basically everything that I already sent but all updated ones.
