As an aside - I just marked the 16th anniversary of my arrival in the US! I have lived longer in the US than in my home country! It's crazy that I am still considered an "alien"... So much for the logic of immigration laws.

Did you try to escalate your case to talk to a supervisor or something?

Seriously, customer service are doing nothing but reading the little they have on screen.

Try escalating, and update us.

I think I will try again tomorrow. I have been so busy working 2 jobs, so I haven't had a chance to give them a call (again) yet. Thank you for your advice tho.

I hope you hear something soon. I also would INSIST to speak with the supervisor, and to call them daily until I would hear something positive.

Wow...stressful.

I guess we will still leave 5 hours before our appointment, even though the place is only 3 hours away from us. I would rather wait there I guess for 2 hours than to get all stressed out, as I am sure I would, if we got lost or something.

Wow what an epic event!!!! Congratulations on getting there with 2 minutes to spare, that is amazing! It seems as though having posted this you have helped another VJ'er out as well. That's what I like about this site, everyone likes to help.....well done!

I love that about this site, too! Everything is stressful enough, and I know it's always made me feel better to know what to expect, or what possibilities exist before I hit the next step of any part of this process. The information I've found here has been invaluable. Love this place!

i know exactly what are you talking about but i learned my lesson early and got me a TOM TOM lol i was at OKC office too middle of nowhere and off roads , GPS works good for places like that lol

So you know what I mean, eh? It's not the most convenient location ever. I really like maps, so I've been avoiding a GPS... but that's just me being stubborn. Of course, if I don't have a map for a particular city, I'm out of luck, whereas if I had a GPS I'd be in business. So you're in OK too then? Hope you've been surviving the summer. Such intolerable weather!

Of course I have no new updates, and don't expect to until December at the earliest. Good luck to everyone!

Is this the end of this process?

After this in the post decision part - they have mentioned that they have mailed us a notice that our petition has been approved.

Are we good to go? OR will they forward it to Department of State or National Visa center any more?

My update is.... it has been 61 days and I still don't receive my BIO appointment. 30 days ago I called to put a service request and the person told me that I should call back in 30 days if I still don't receive the appointment. So today(day 61) I called USCIS customer Service again and was told that nothing they can do, the only option for me is to wait and if I want to make another service request, I have to do it by myself.

so frustrating right now.

Any further word? I was just thinking of you and wondering. I hope you found out some positive information,

Thank you Brijo, I called and spoke with a supervisor on August 16th. I told him my situation and he explained just exactly same thing as the previous cutomer service I spoke with before on August 11th. But this time I insisted to put another service request and he did it for me. I haven't heard anything from them since, no reply email...nothing.

He also said I should email USCIS headquarter on August 31st if I still don't receive my BIO appointment.

I really don't know what to do.

Today,we received a notice I-797D which gives instructions about the card and to hold the mailer in case we lose the card or we need to order a new one.

The card expires in August 2021 - which is 10 years from today. However, I thought green cards always expired in 10 years. My wife had a conditional card since 2009. Is it normal to have a green card for 2 + 10 years = 12 years?

Please let us know if we need to do anything more? Do we need to go to Social Security Office to inform them about the new card and give them a copy of the new green card? Thanks

Congratulations:)

well, If you have a Conditional Green Card for two years, you are required to fill application to renew it within 90 days before the expiration date on the card, if you failed to do so, you are considered OUT OF STATUS, and the USCIS will need strong evidence that this happened out of control etc

after you renew your GC, your new green card is NOT conditional and its valid for 10 years.

Some ppl who admit to the US after the 2ND marriage anniversary(if marriage happened outside the US), they automatically gets 10 years GC,rather than that they get the two years one, there is no 12 years green card, only 2 or 10

If your wife GC is conditional still,and was issued in 2009, guess she will need to remove conditions dependingf on the expiration date

as far as the social Security, I dont recall anyone needed to go and update them, definitly you will if you plan to get the Citizenship
