Hello Everyone,

I would be grateful if somebody could answer this question for me, it may be pretty obvious but here goes..

On the USCIS site is the processing time the time it takes to get get your visa in hand or the time it takes to get the NOA2, their dealing with cases from March 8th right now...

Cheers

David and Amie

The processing times on the USCIS is the time it takes for them to get from NOA1 to NOA2 and nothing to do with the time that a visa is issued, NVC and the Consulate can add months to the time. This just a max time, sort of their way of saying if you have not received your approval and NOA2 letter in 6 months, don't call us until 6 months are past since NOA1. :clock:

After NOA2 then petition goes through NVC which takes time the on to the consulate.

I would look at the time lines here on this site, filter for CSC, and the Consulate that you will be using and you will get a good picture on time.

For me I was fortunate and my service center was VSC, they are quick and NOA1-NOA2 was a month, but at the other end the Consulate I will use Guangzhou is famous for taking 4-6 months to interview.

So it all depends on service center, and consulate.
