The rules for the DV lottery say all the visas must be approved by a set date ( or when the numbers run out ) so there is a mad rush to issue all those that will get their visas before the door closes. CR visas can be extended to whenever ( look at Ghahna for a worse case of a year wait)

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Agreed Ghana has a horrible wait. I believe a few timelines I saw were almost 12-16 months between NVC complete and interview date. Yes, that is not a typo, 12-16 months!

Thanks for the insight. Thank god its not like Ghanhna. The fact remains people with CR visas have to wait because of the restrictions set for DV visas restrictions set by I would think the US state department is completely absurd, combined with the fact this embassy is also taking visa interviews for other multiple countries puts fuel to the fire!

So it people who actually want there family/spouse have to wait it out for DV Lottery visas to be approved before there family gets their interview just goes to show you how little they prioritize people in this situation. Why should we have to suffer because you are afraid of making a deadline in which you set by the way. Things HAVE got to change. This cant be the way it is and that it. WE LITTLE people are always left in the dark without no clue on what is really going on. I feel I have to speak out against this because this is completely and utterly wrong is all kinds of ways.
