Hi guys, I am sory if that question was already posted here, I didn't do the research.

Yesterday at night I got a message that my brother died, and I don't know what to do. I scheduled an infopas appointment for tomorrow in Cleveland and thanks to God I was able to get it so fast.

I am in the middle of my AOS journey, don't have a GC yet, and I didn't apply for AP (STUPID!!!!!)

I know that if I leave, I can't come back unless on K-3 visa, but is there any way for me to get some kind of reentry permit if I go to Poland for the funeral? I should know more tomorrow after infopass what the options are if any and my husband is going to call Embassy in Poland to find out more. Does anybody know if there is any chance for me to come back, anybody with similar exerience? I would appreciate any help.

since u came on k-1 according to ur timeline u need advance parole to enter back into the country. as far as i know cleveland can not give an emergency advance parole. at least that is what they told us at my husbands aos interview. we had to wait 3 months to get the AP. we are still waiting on fbi checks so he hasnt got a green card either.

I would see what can be done by the CO at the info pass appointment, considering your situation they may issue AP.

Let us know what happens at the Info Pass appointment.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You should be able to get emergency AP at the infopass as long as you have evidence of the emergency... fax from the hospital/funeral home try to get this as it will make all the diffrence when you go tomorrow...

Sorry for your loss and I hope all works out for you tomorrow...

Thank you guys so much!!!!!! I don't have anything to confirm that my brother died, it just happened yesterday, he will have an autopsy tomorrow, to find out what was the reson of his death, he was just 29!!!!

I will talk with my other family members to see what they can send me, but we all are so devastated and can barely talk. I will let you know what will happen at infopas appointment. Thank you again, very much!

Hi guys, we had the infopass appointment today and like Donnaal had said Cleveland office cannot issue emergency AP. We just got form I-131 and were told to send it to Chicago for processing.

We still have to call the Embassy and we didn't make it today (time difference, infopass, long wait for live person) but I don't think that Embassy can help. My other brother who can't attend the funeral as he is somewhere in the Pacific on a ship right now will be in Los Angeles in a week, so at least I can fly to spend a couple of days with him. Thank you very much for your help and good word.

I am so sorry I have never heard of a local office not being able to issue an emergancy AP.... if it was me I would be on the phone to my congress person to get that fixed... it is not right.... when other offices issue them in the event of the death of an immediate family member....

I am so pissed off, called the embassy(they can't help), still need to call my congresman. My brother who is in the pacific right now is coming for the funeral, we learned that yesterday. The company he works for pays for helicopter to get gim to the nearest airport, pays for the airfare and vacation, and I can't get a stupid emergency AP! I have read the post of Raymaga, she got emergency AP in Seattle in just one day, I saw New York issues that too, I just want to scream!!!!!!
