if your case was complete the nvc gives you a case number, and the nvc sends all your files to the consulate for for the interview, you should get an appointment letter the same letter is used for to take your medical exam,the day of your interview you must bring that letter so you will let in the embassy.

Appointment letter you got in the mail from NVC stating your case has been transferred to Lagos.It has the Lagos case number and all....

Hey everyone:

When you are talking about the fiance taking the "appointment letter" to the interview with him, what are we actually talking about? THANKS :)

In Lagos the appointment letter is "pkt4" that states your interview day and time (He should take that to the mebassy on the day of his interview) ....You know "appointment letter" :rofl: girl you are funny no worries I am sure you have everything in order dont over think it you are at the end of the race now...... :thumbs:

So far my fiance has not received an "interview" letter per say by snail mail. I did however receive an email with his interview date and time which I then forwarded to a friend in Nigeria for him to print. This email was what he took with him for the police report and will take with him when he goes for the medical and then for the actual interview.

Lagos does not send out any documents with "snail mail" all communication is via email so what you have via that email is considered the "appontment letter" Good luck the rest of the way :thumbs:

Honestly I am still confused. The "appointment letter" is what exactly? I got a packet 3 with a bunch of forms in it. I also received a letter from NVC. I never received a packet 4. Also, the embassy only emailed me the date because I requested that they do so and so I just have an email that I can't print because they've written the text in color and my printer is only black ink. If it is something they send in a packet, how do I get it, what does it look like, what does it say exactly? Is it on their letterhead with the seal and all? I really don't know. Thank you everyone!

The appointment letter is the email you got from the embassy that has your interview date and time on it. He should take that to the embassy with him. If you cant print in color because you have a black and white printer only go to like Kinkos or Office Depot or Office Max whichever one is in your area and print it. The letter from the NVC says what...It is probably just a letter telling you your case has been forwarded to the embassy blah blah blah. Whether you requested the date of the interview or not they still was going to send you the date and time of your interview (pkt4) and it is not per say a pkt it is just that one letter stating your date and time of interview. The letter with your interview date and time should be very generic no seal nothing that really looks official. You will be ok no worries you have what you need :thumbs:
