Proof of finantial support

Timeline

Hello everyone,

My fiancé is navy retired, cuz disability, and receives SSDI + VA Retirements. He makes more than 125% poverty guideline. So, can we use it for financial support join the 1-134 form?

What are the specific documents, we are suppose to take with us to the interview date about financial support?

K-1 Visa process

11/05/2010 - I-129F Sent

11/08/2010 - NOA1

11/11/2010 - Touched

02/19/2011 - Medical exam

03/15/2011 - Touched

04/19/2011 - RFE (email/textmsg)

04/22/2011 - RFE hardcopy

04/25/2011 - RFE reply sent

05/03/2011 - Touched (RFE response under review)

05/16/2011 - NOA2 (Finally, after 6 months - exactly 189 days)

05/25/2011 - NVC received our case

05/31/2011 - Got our new case number (NVC sent a letter)

06/01/2011 - The U.S. Embassy in Rio de Janeiro received our case

06/07/2011 - Received our interview date

08/09/2011 - INTERVIEW!!! (Approved)

08/13/2011 - Received my passport

08/15/2011 - POE Detroit

09/22/2011 - GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!!!

If he makes above the 125% he should be fine using his tax return plus a few check stubs. If his retirement / disability checks are direct deposited just get a few bank statements showing that this money is consistently deposited into his account. His tax return will show that his anual gross income is high enough and this should be sufficient evidence for the consulate. My wife went through the London Consulate, but they're known for being sticklers for financial evidence. They kept my tax return copies, pay stub copies, and my letter from my employer, but didn't need any of the other evidence we sent. Good Luck! -Rich
