Hi folks,

My NOA2 showed up in my mailbox today, the date on the notice is May 25th - 147 days. Even now, a check of my case status on USCIS website shows my case is still pending, last (and only) touch Dec 31 2010. I never got any emails or texts, though I signed up for both.

I sincerely hope that everyone finds a pleasant surprise in their mail soon. This ordeal has been more difficult than I imagined, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Congrats on the NOA2. USCIS tells me nothing as well with updates. I got a RFE last week and My Attourney told me. So, It's Normal. My case says Initial Review still. LOL

Congrats on the NOA2 .

Yeah, that website is not very accurate. I have read many posts regarding the same thing.

CONGRATULATIONS on such a nice surprise.....

Similar to you, my fiance hasn't had an email. However, our online status DID change last week, so I'm hoping that it is working (sometimes, at least). Now we wait for the paper copy..and I'm trying to not get paranoid in the interim.

Hi folks,

There's actually a little more to the story...

I have a big list of EAC receipt numbers, both before and after my own, most of them sequential. There may be a few I missed, but I think I have good number of them.

On my list, pretty much all before mine were approved or RFE. And for period of a month after mine it was the same: I came up with 88 approved and 37 RFE's To say that everyone before me and after me was approved or looked at is only slightly exaggerating. This is not what a backlog or being held up by a few difficult cases looks like.

Anyway, being the paranoid that I am, I contacted my Senators office on the 23rd, asking her to look into it, as my file appears as if its lost or something. On the 25th it was approved, no email or text. NOA2 arrived in mail 31st, as did a letter from Senator saying she's looking into it.

A week after my case has been approved, USCIS case status page STILL shows Initial Review, last touched Dec 31, 2010. Other VJers have gotten emails/texts or some indication of their cases being approved this past week, but somehow my case seems invisible/untrackable.

I wonder if contacting Senators office had anything to do with it (seems awfully quick)? Or maybe somehow my case is invisible to USCIS, and it took Senators inquiry to find it. I just had nightmares that mine was behind somebody's desk, and the adjudicator went on maternity leave or something. Who knows how it really works...

Anyone else with NOA1 around Dec 29, that got NOA2, but system doesnt update status? My list still has half a dozen or so Dec 29 NOA1's that still show Initial Review, last touched Dec 31. Just seems very strange to me.

a & a,

Congratulations on your NOA2!

I have a strange experience to share with you too :)

My NOA1 was Dec. 10th 2010, touched on Dec. 31st, and my NOA2 was May 19th, 2011. I got confused by back-to-back emails from USCIS. The first one said my case status was "Post Decision Activity" and the second email's status was "Acceptance". These same messages appeared at their website. See my posting http://www.visajourn...46#entry4676746

I called USCIS, was told they could not get updates due to system problem but looks like my case has not been adjudicated. I called NVC the following week (May 25th) and got my GUZ case number. On May 26th, I got my hard copy NOA2 marked "Duplicate Approval Notice". I don't know what happened to the first or original notice.

Now I'm "patiently waiting" for NVC to send my case over to Guangzhou :)

Hope things will go smoother for all of us from this point on!! :)

congrats! Looks like we got the NOA2 around the same time as ours was May 6, 2011.

So now the info will be sent to the NVC? I assume it's been sent there already. Is there a way to check?

Then after that they send the into to the consulate in our fiance's country?
