The ABC television network -- a cog in the Walt Disney empire -- unleashed a promotional blitz in the last week for a new "docudrama" called "The Path to 9/11". ABC bills the two-night production as a public service that is "based on the 9/11 Commission Report". That is false - it is actually a bald-faced attempt to slander Democrats.

"The Path to 9/11" is a conservative attempt to rewrite the history of September 11th to blame Democrats. The Walt Disney Corporation could have given Americans an honest look at September 11. Instead, the company abandoned its duty to the truth -- and embraced the fiction known as "The Path to 9/11."

Tell Walt Disney president Robert Iger that you hold his company responsible -- and that this community demands that ABC tell the truth.

Mr. Iger,

"The Path to 9/11" mocks the truth and dishonors the memory of 9/11 victims to serve a cheap, callous political agenda. It irresponsibly misrepresents the facts and completely distorts the truth.

This film is a conservative attempt to rewrite the history of September 11 to blame Democrats, just in time for the election. You should honor the trust the public has given you with our public airwaves by keeping this propaganda off the air.

the dirty trick - that the site, which has the same name as the tv show that will air shortly, does a redirect to a page that asks people to sign that petition?

would you not think the same thing if you went to say www.farenheit911.com and found yourself at a republican website that had a petition that was against said movie?

My point is that BOTH Parties resort to tactics that are questionable. This pales in comparison to so many others, so why get worked up over being redirected? Look at the web address...it's http://www.pathto911.com, not 'thepathto911'. Do tell me Charles that this isn't the first time you've been redirected to another because of a similarly named website?

Now I wasn't redirected but, back during the times of the first Mars rover, a friend of mine and I decided to look at NASA's photographs. I did not think about the com-gov difference and typed in www.nasa.com...we were sicked by what we saw that day, before I realized my error! (nasa.com at the time (which was removed shortly after) was a gay porn website )

yes i'm aware of what the website name is, so on and so forth, as expected you missed the point that someone registered that site name and put in a redirect for political purposes. now continue to downplay this underhanded scheme because it does not fit in with your bush bashing. so by all means carry on with that.

i think that distortion of facts for political gain is very serious i know that both partys ingage in this.i will watch just as i watched far.9/11 and i dont believe everything that i see.my fear is that some people do.thier are many people in this country who live in rural areas that dont have cable or sat.they rely on the networks for thier information ,to me this accounts for the center of our nation being red in every election.if you look around our large citys and education centers they are always blue.so i do think some people will believe this account as fact and that saddens me greatly.

and i sympathise with people who buy into and live in fear.(not liberals)

i hope we never have another day like sep.11 but i would not trade my freedom to insure it ,if we do that then the terrorist win,we do not decend from men who lived in fear but from men who were not afraid to live what they believed no matter what the outcome!!!

I am watching it now...actually it caught my eye while I was flicking thro' the channels cos I remembered this thread

We did also buy and watch 'United 93' today after some discussion.....it actually wasn't what we were expecting, I found it quite interesting as it mostly showing with how the event was dealt with on the ground, and most of the dialogue on the plane were those ppl talking to their loved ones....but still, a sad watch....

anyway....back to watching Path to 9/11........
