My 130 for my wife was approved on May 20th and I am still waiting for NVC to assign the new case number. I’m just wondering is it ok for my wife to finish and sign DS 230 form and send it to me before NVC enter the case to their system or she has to wait until NVC assign the case number. Any suggestion will be appreciated

Hello ZahidAntara,

Congratulations on the approval for I-130.

My suggestion would be to be more proactive than waiting for NVC to send you documents. If you do little bit of your homework, I think you can easily save 1-3 months of time from the NVC phase:

Please check the section 2. NVC Steps, specially starting from section 2.3. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_Do_I_Bring_My_Spouse_(Husband_or_Wife)_to_Live_in_the_United_States%3F

And believe me, post questions/concerns anytime you have and you will find some really good solutions from various kind hearted people.

You don't even have to wait for a hard copy of the DS230 if you do it right via email. Instead of 15-45 days, you can become the agent of choice in 3 days (took me something like that).

Good luck

I didn't even do that (for choice of agent), no attachment. In fact, I drafted the email from various templates and forwarded it to my wife. She copied and pasted it in the body of the email from her email address. No attachment, no signature was required. I believe calling NVC and updating the email address and phone number for both beneficiary and petitioner may have worked in some shape or form.
