What are the documents that you submitted when you filed the petition for your mom? my husband is a US citizen and his mom is currently here in the States. we wanted to petition her so she could stay her permanently.

thanks in advance!

Quick question:

How long does it take for my wife to get her visa?

I already applied I-130 as a LPR (in October 2010, already paid the AOS and IV fees last month), and I will be eligible for citizen this month (June). It seems it will take approx. 3 months for me to get citizenship, then how long until she can get her visa?

Thanks!

You will need both I-130 and I-485.

For I-130 you will need:

1. Petittioner's birth certificate

2. Petitioner's marriage certificate

3. Petitioners proof of citizenship

4. $420

For I-485 items, someone will be able to help you better.

my mother - in - law's interview was last 09/26. She and my husband (USC) went there and the questions asked are the following:

Do you have SSN?

How many children do you have?

and the questions stated in the forms that we submitted.

She was also asked to provide the death certificate of her husband but since they dont have it with them the officer just wrote it in the form. They were told that the if they dont hear anything from them they will most probably receive the GC within 2 weeks.

A few days later, a letter was received that her application for GC was approved and will be mailed to her.
