Hello, i just wanted to ask how your process is going? we are just stating and are both full of questions without more specific answers. Its all very complicated. Thanks to all of you for putting in your info. It helps with the questions and worry.

Chris is in Manchester and i am in AZ. we just sent our I-129F off and he is coming to AZ at the end of Nov 2011 to wait it out together. it is scary but we just cant manage the time apart any longer. Do you have any advice that might help us out regarding money, timelines and unforseen problems.

Thanks agian, Lei and Chris

Micmac is right get your police certificate now.You cannot go for your medical without it. You can look at my timeline to see how long things took. Times vary though from month to month and place to place. Our case was at VT. My husband was living in Manchester too BTW :) He was originally from Glasgow though. Still he was in Manchester for 18 years+ before he moved out here. Is your fiance planning on staying for 90 days and going back? Jock (My husband) visited me 3 times during the process. You can come and go freely with the VWP but as mentioned DONT OVERSTAY! Remember this is costly too so traveling back and forth could eat into your budget. No matter what, in the end your fiance will have to be in England to attend the Medical at Knightbridge in London which costs about 245 quid and then the interview which is in London on a separate day so there is Virgin Train travel too from Manchester both times. The interview costs nothing of course but the Visa costs $350 plus the cost of shipping it. After that there is the post wedding Adjustment of Status which is $1070!! That was the hardest pill to swallow, but all worth it in the end!!

Feel free to ask us any questions, you have a great knowledge and support group here on VJ :)

After that there is the post wedding Adjustment of Status which is $1070!! That was the hardest pill to swallow, but all worth it in the end!!

My fiance has 3 kids so the visa was $340x3, the Medical was $700, and the AOS will be over $2000. And on and on it goes. It will be over $10k by the time it is done but it is only money.

Still, I'd like to see a flat rate like $3000 per person or something and you just either pay it at once and be done, or they bill you in installments. Then again you can get denied at any point, talk about pressure.

Once your case is logged at the London Embassy and you have an interview date (which you can find out about by calling the DOS and providing your case number)you can then contact the Embassy and pay for the Visa. You will need your case number, names and birthdates and the passport number of the benificiary. You can call from within the UK: 09042-45010 and calls are charged at £1.23 min or from the USA at 1-866-382-3589 and they charged a fixed rate of $16.00 for up to 7 minutes.

Blimey! My head is spinning, but it's all good. I am out in the USA with my fiance ( I am the U.K beneficiary). We received our NOA2 on October 22nd (while I was here) and just received the hard-copy of our LND case number (7th November). I am planning on heading back A.S.A.P and getting the medical sorted. I am just in the process of gathering everything for packet 3. So much stuff whirling around in my head - I know you all get that, though. So we have the medical await the interview date and keep everything crossed. Good luck to everyone. :)

Hi guys!

I got NOA2 quite a while ago now, but had t wait a bit before sending IV and AOS packets. Just sent them today (£20for 2 photos, and £10 to send it - outrageous!)

So, just sitting and waiting now!

All going well, 2 weeks through NVC from what I can gather, and then how long can I expect to wait for the interview date?

and just to double check, I cant get the medical until I have the interview date?

I m a K1 and am waiting for them to log my details. Had packet three sent 1 Nov and sent it back into their offices recorded delivery on 2nd Nov and went for the medical on the 3rd Nov. Called DOS yesterday and they said London still haven't logged the packet details up onto the system nor the medical results. I guess its just a waiting game------AGAIN!! It's annoying though to not even know for sure that the results and forms haven't been lost somewhere, just a blank 'no, we don't have them yet'. I think perhaps paying extra for next day delivery made NO sense at all as it doesn't change the three to fgour week timescale for them to get around to opening and uploading the info. i asked if there were appointments left for Dec (I have two children going through changes of school) and they said again 'we do not know'.

No, you can and should get the medical done before the interview date. I'm sure on the London Embassy website it says that an appointment will not be scheduled until they have the results of the medical. Do you have your ACPO police certificate yet?

Yeah, I have my police certificate, one was sent to the NVC and I have one extra which I believe now has to be take to the medical.

It was my understanding that you could not schedule a medical until you have the appointment letter in hand?

We are DCF so I have had no dealings with the NVC, but my husband had to have his medical results into the embassy in order for them to schedule his interview.

I do know you need your case number in order to book your medical.
