We sent packet 3 on April 27 and had medical on May 6. Results were sent to embassy on the 13th. I've been checking daily for an interview date and they keep saying call back. I finally called the extortion line and got the email code. The embassy replied to tell me they never received packet 3! I told my fiance to send it recorded post, but he didn't...

What a waste of 34 days! We're overnighting everything again tomorrow...

My Fiance called DOS as they said they have received packet 3 which was sent May14. Had my medicals done today, was waiting for ages between having the chest x-ray done and seeing the doctor. It went ok except for low blood pressure(doctor said its ok better than high). DOS says I should get an interview date in 2weeks. So I am just waiting and hoping it all goes well.

By problems do you mean health problems? Im worried if they find something, but if they do, I'd rather fix it on the NHS than go back to the clinic.

I booked my medical for June 16th. Luckily my SO is visiting me right now so he can come with me.

In other news, the DS-156 is expired. All the other forms for packet 3 are still valid. Waiting on that new DS-156 before I fill it out.

Forms don't really expire, but are sometimes relaced when needed. That date shows when the form must be review by the Office of Management and Budget (hence OMB date) for the Paperwork Reduction Act. The public has a 30 or 60 day period in which they can comment when the form is in review. They review the stated amount of time it takes to complete the form and if the form asks you for more information than is needed for the stated purpose of the form. Like if the I-134 asked your religion or hair color that would not be pertinent to a form agreeing to support an immigrant or visitor so the review would determine the form asked too much information from you. If all is well with the form, it isn't revised but it will get a new OMB date for when the next review is due. The 30 day notice for the DS-156 was published April 11.

Short answer: the form isn't expired. Use it.

I've got my medical on Wednesday and then I'm going to start phoning them and bugging them for an interview ASAP! I live in London so I'm going to call daily to see if they have any cancellations that I can fill. So excited, so nervous, so impatient! Haha!

My timeline is in my sig! For those who are about to book their medicals, call daily to ask for cancellations. I booked mine the other day and was given June 17th, I called the next day to ask about cancellations and was told someone cancelled for June 8th and I managed to get it.

After much confusion with the Dept of State, we finally found out that London has sent off the packet 3 to me today. I plan on posting my DS forms tomorrow. Medical next week.

How long does it usually take after sending the forms to hear back about an interview?

Also calling in daily for a cancellation sounds expensive! The embassy is like £1.20/min to phone!

By the way, does anyone know if we need to bring 2 or 3 US-sized passport photos to the interview? Different places have told me different things.

I read 3 on the website, but people on here have said 2. I'm bringing 3 just in case.

DOS have just told us packet 3 was logged last Thursday 9th June (the day I had my medical) and the embassy have also logged my medical results now too. We were told 'to expect an interview date soon'... something they tell everyone, I'm sure, but it's left us hopeful! :)
