For everyone between NOA2 and interview in London

My fiance had his medical in London and he did end up having to get a letter from his Dr stating that his blood pressure problems were indeed white coat syndrome. This caused quite a delay. They did work with him and keep his case open instead of denying him, so that was good. But I wanted to say that if you do have blood pressure problems, I would expect problems.

My fiance had been treated for weeks on blood pressure meds to no avail, finally he got them to listen and he requested a 24 hour moniter. Without the primary Drs doing that, I think we would have been out of luck. We were so pleased when the moniter results came back in favor of White Coat Syndrome.

Anyway he had to have 1 booster shot, fax off the report from his 24 hour moniter and now we are waiting for his interview date.

The London Medical sent him an email said they had recieved those reports and if they needed anything else they would be in touch. Thank God they havent requested anything else. So I guess were good to go for the interview.

The London medical has had all the reports for about 2 weeks now, so were guessing we should hear about an interview date soon.

The people in the London medical offices were very kind and were very supportive with my fiance and were so glad its finally taken care of.

I was wondering about how long it might take to actually get the interview and what we might expect.

This has been a very long journey and were hanging in there but its rough.

He has all the necessary forms / approval etc, Were just waiting for the interview date.

My case got to London 15th July, packet 3 was sent on 19th, I sent my documents to London on the 20th and got Royal Mail confirmation of receipt on 21st. On 25th July (Monday just gone) I had my medical and rang today to see if they received my packet 3 documents yet - turns out those haven't been logged yet while my medical results have been.

Has anyone else had it that the packet 3 took much longer than the medical to get logged into the system or should I be worried that they might have lost it (I know it arrived - sent it special delivery)?

Took them 9 days to log mine after they signed for it. It takes time. Imagine how many packets they get a day. I picture a stack in some poor blokes inbox and him just inputting all day every day

and well since I am here posting I guess I'll say "Jock comes tomorrow!!! (L) " WOOOOOOOO!!

and well since I am here posting I guess I'll say "Jock comes tomorrow!!! (L) " WOOOOOOOO!!

Oh how exciting for you!! And the wedding is just a week away?? So happy for you.

We're off to Alaska for a VJ wedding that's next weekend. It's a girl I met here in the UK forum and "adopted" because she had some serious family issues and difficulties and turned to me for help. So they married in Texas two years ago and we were there and set up the arrangements. We saw them again in January of this year, also in TX. But she always said she was going to have her big wedding. And next weekend it is happening--a big formal wedding. She is still estranged from her family in the UK, so asked my husband to walk her down the aisle and to dance with her for the father/daughter dance. Sweet! (L) Then after a week in Alaska, we're going to the San Francisco Bay area before coming home.

Genee-- I'll silently toast to your marriage next weekend.

Yes, next Saturday!! I can't wait! It's finally here and a lot of it is down to your amazing guidance (F):) You can't go we got AOS next!! ;) Thank you so much for the toast that's very sweet of you. Alaska sounds amazing! Ironically enough my daughter is just returning from a 2 week trip to Alaska with her dad and grandparents. She sounded like she was having a great time when we spoke. I think that is so sweet that your VJ friend asked your hubby to walk her down the aisle :luv: I'm sure it will be a very special day for you all! Enjoy it :)

You can't go we got AOS next!! ;)

Hahaha--I'll have the laptop with me so just PM if you have questions. I gave you my AOS list.

Here's a tip. When you get the marriage license, ask them if you can bring it back in and get your certified copy while you wait. Sometimes the officiant tries to take care of mailing it in for you, then you wait on the county to enter it into the marrige records and mail the marriage certificate to you. We married on a Sunday afternoon and got the officiant to sign it. Then Monday morning we took the signed license to the county clerk's office. They recorded it and handed us our certified copy in about 10 minutes. Then we had everything needed to file AOS without wondering if the officiant remembered to mail it or whose desk it was gathering dust on at the county office. We'd had all the bloody waiting on the unknown we could stand with the K1 process, so were happy to get it done so quickly.

Oh good, you'll be within reach! I can breath again, hehehe  I do have your AOS sheet and I have pre filled in almost everything. So many many thanks again as usual you are my lifeline!

In regards to the certificate I am getting married by a JOP who is good friends with the Town Clerk and she already told me that they talked about Jock and I, I guess cause our case was so unique in my little spit on the map who knows and that after the ceremony she is going to take the paperwork over to the Town Clerks home! Talk about service? Anyway still an great tip for anyone going through this as usual

Feeling very very cheeky here but any chance you would share this list with me, pretty please? I would like to get a headstart on the AOS documents to keep time without a job to as short as I can influence possible. I read through the guides and have started filling in PDF but I found your K1 London guide super helpful to make sure everything is in place...

This list is basically what I did and is just a modification of my cover letter adding some notes to help. We've never had an RFE or another interview since London so it must be a fairly good list. I added joint sponsor for those needing one. And I put two choices for the medical. If you've read any of my stuff, you know I strongly advocate getting all your shots done and dusted before the Knightsbridge appointment. Then you do NOT need to find a civil surgeon and pay him to do an I-693 copy of your shot record. But I included an either/or for that. Either your DS-3025 OR an I-693, but not both. The fees are current. It's just an overview and no detail on each form. Use VJ sample forms and ALWAYS read the form instructions. Twice. If people are interested I'll add a page of the questions asked day after day for the three years I've been around.

#1 tip--you are starting over so forget K1. Brand new people are looking at you for the first time. You may have a new last name so use it. You may be sending things you already sent before. New process, some repeats of info because K1 is over. And it took me awhile to figure this one out--there's a lot of people adjusting status from other visas like student, work, VWP, tourist. Actually way more are coming from another visa or status and may have lived in the US for years. So don't think the forms and instructions are geared only toward a K1. Those other people have to do an I-130 petition and a full medical exam. You're already past petition (I129F) and past the medical exam (Knightsbridge).

@little_g: Love the live reporting from JFK! You're too much. :)

Micmac just send in your DS forms before getting the packet 3, some people never get it due to postal issues so its quicker not to wait around. Even after you send in all your results it can be weeks before getting assigned an interview date, which will be a month further from when you get it. Have you done your medical?

Hey all, this is my first time posting here! I obsessively read your timelines to get an idea how long things are going to take. Brendan had his medical on July 15 and since then it seems like time is just dragging on as we wait for the embassy to let us know when his interview is. It's been 3 weeks today since he sent his packet to the embassy and it will be 3 weeks ago this Friday since his medical exam. It's been almost a year since we filed for our K1... This is taking way longer than normal for us.
