Haha, thank you! My friends threw a surprise celebration/UK hen party so I've had a very busy and very fun weekend! :blink:

Forms don't really expire, but are sometimes relaced when needed. That date shows when the form must be review by the Office of Management and Budget (hence OMB date) for the Paperwork Reduction Act.

Visa has arrived! 3 working days after the interview and it got here at 9am, pretty good considering I only paid for the standard delivery. Hooray!

Also, I would say that I stayed in the Lincoln House Hotel, less than 10 mins walk away, and thought it was great: spotlessly clean, comfortable and everything you'd need. Plus, they held my bag for the rest of the day and you can get a discount by paying in cash. Might be useful for some people to know!

Congratulations! We also recommend Lincoln House. If you ring them up you can kind of negotiate rates and then the discount for cash when you check out. We left our bags and phones, so no stop at Gould's. Then we went back and collected phones/camera out of our bags before spending the day as tourists. They didn't mind keeping the bags all day. Our coach stop back to Oxford was on their street, as were many other coach lines, so very nice not to have to drag the bags back to Victoria.

Well, my interview was on Friday and it was approved! :dance: Rather a surreal feeling after all this waiting. I will leave a review soon but all in all everything was fine. The exciting bit is the queueing and going through security, past the guards with guns etc., but once you're inside it really is just like any council office in the country: it's just an admin base.

From queueing to back to my hotel it only took an hour and a half! I was expecting several hours. Both interviewers/officers I spoke to were very nice and I had laugh with each of them. They really only asked when we met and what Chris does for a living. Also, I would say that I stayed in the Lincoln House Hotel, less than 10 mins walk away, and thought it was great: spotlessly clean, comfortable and everything you'd need. Plus, they held my bag for the rest of the day and you can get a discount by paying in cash. Might be useful for some people to know!

All in all, a great experience :)

15th Feb 2011 - Filed I-130 in London.

6th Apr 2011 - Sent letter requesting expedition of visa.

11th Apr 2011 - Received email approving request.

12th May 2011 - I-130 approved.

2nd June 2011 - Received case number via email. Booked medical.

3rd June 2011 - Sent forms DS-230, DS-2001 & cover letter today.

8th June 2011 - Medical Exam (£273.00 for medical & MMR/Tetanus injection)

11th July 2011 - Visa interview at 8am.

14th July 2011 - Visa in hand.

23rd July 2011 - Uniting my family today in San Antonio <3

11th Aug 2011 - Received 10yr Green Card in the mail

22nd Aug 2011 - Received SSN
