The politicians go to the church every time on the religious holidays nowadays, but what you say is not quite true. And please, don't try to state that I know less about the country I grew up in than you do. That's not true either. Unless you're Sarah Palin, which means that you can see Russia from your backyard

If you read the article, Why Me, you'll see that a United Russia deputy said she doubted it would pass. The Patriarch or some other higher up dude in the ROC also spoke out against miniskirts awhile back. That does not mean that Putin wants to ban miniskirts.

Also I wonder if morning after pill is the right translation, because I found another source that is basically the same article in Russian which used "meditsinsky abort," which is not the same thing as "ekstrennaya kontraseptsiya" (morning after pill). There are pills that work for up to 6 weeks or so.
