Please be aware. A LPR is not a Citizen. Where as it can take less than a year for a Citizen to bring their spouse. It takes 10 years for a greencard holder to bring their spouse. I am sorry to say that the time they are taking to process your approval is completely normal. It will be quite a few years before you hear anything else on this case. : (

Hey please don´t break this guy’s heart. It does not take 10 years.

Please ignore that 10 years thing. Here is some more accurate info.

As the spouse of an LPR you are in category F2A, which in the last visa bulletin had a PD cut off = 22AUG2007 … so it means that people in your category who filed back in August 2007 have a current PD now. So a prediction of around 4 years is more accurate … still is a long time!

The best thing to lessen the worry is to educate yourself my learning about the entire immigration process for LPR spouse.

Few things you can do, in order of importance

1) Read the OFFICIAL guide on USCIS website

Family of LPR

Green Card for family of LPR

2) Read the unoffical guide and wiki page on this website.

3) Buy a book like this that walk you through the entire process in details

US Marriage Visa. Publisher: NOLO

As for your situation right now, you should call USCIS to check on the status of

your i130 case since it's been passed the 5 months average processing time.

always double check the information you gather online with the official sites

good luck!

You are getting a good one! LOL dancin5hr.gif

you file your case to vermont center so the process take 6.7 months to get your approval cause you are LPH then they will transfer your case to the nvc when they close your case you should wait 2 or 3 years to get your interview good luck
