Sure, but you see my point. (though exercising 4th amendment rights does not create probable cause, the dog would if he reacts)

Correct. I did that once with Beverly Hill PD. I refused to unlock the car once I got out. That didn't stop them from peering in the windows with their flashlights, but nothing was in plain view. They decided it wasn't worth it, and cut me loose.

you don't have to allow them to search, even if they request to. they can, however, detain you while a drug dog is sent over to check your vehicle. then if the dog alerts, they have probably cause to search your car.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

This would not work in certain cities ghettos. They would use force.

dude, are you from mayberry or a similiar town? have you not had much interaction with law enforcement? i thought we were talking actual possible scenarios here. not legal theory. a cop is not going to ask to look inside your car just for something to do. they would ask if they thought you were under the influence (looking for an open container), transporting stolen goods, weapons, drugs, or large sums of money. if a cop really thought you had something & you refused access, i promise you they would notice a strange air about your person. creating the probable cause, and any other officer on the scene would agree with them. then the dogs would be called if they were available....so unless you've been doing something, save yourself the hassle & let'em look.

:ot2:

the people that got arrested in the video deserved to get arrested.

We are a little more savvy along the West Coast of what cops can and cannot do than it seems you are Mike.

I see you've finally lost it. You posed a contrary scenario that I showed to be false.
