I'm afraid not. The point was simply that you (and most people) are selective about the rules you're willing to adhere to. Just because someone in a uniform tells you to do something, doesn't mean you're obliged to obey.

Blind obedience to authority is naive.

have you ever heard of someone getting arrested for complying with an officers request?..... neither have i.

well that depends, police are not required to tell the truth and may request something that you are not required to do. If you do it, it may create a situation where you can be arrested. A request being different than an order.

when police arrest someone they have about an hour or so of paperwork to do. nobody likes paperwork. its highly doubtful the senario you just mentioned would take place. but, you might want to check your pm box. i might have just sent you tommorrows winning powerball numbers.....it could happen.

i understood it & its a terrible arguement.

you & the boys are at the house drinking. it gets a little loud for the neighbors. a cop knocks on the door & asks to speak to you out by the drive way. because, the lighting is better out there. you do as asked & now your busted for public drunk.

From the ruling it appears that the Jefferson Memorial is not a public place, its government property that is to be used to illustrate the government's view of Thomas Jefferson. The dancing does not match the government view, hence it is banned.

That probably means group prayer is also banned etc.

well gimme an example.

I was thinking more along the lines of searches. IE in a traffic stop you must comply if you are asked out of the car. You can also be asked for access to the interior of car or boot, however depending on situation you may not have to comply. Yet you may be led to believe that you must.

yes, if you're asked by an officer to exit your vehicle during a traffic stop, you are required to do so. your car is private property, but its on a public steet. but, if an officer asks you for access to your cars interior & you deny access. if the k-9 unit is available you'll get the dogs run on you for giving the officer probable cause to believe you're hiding illegal contraband inside.

Sure, but you see my point. (though exercising 4th amendment rights does not create probable cause, the dog would if he reacts to what's inside - assuming its that kind of contraband)
