Hello all. I am new to this and first off thank you for the information you all have provided on this forum. This website is absolutly wonderful.

I am just finishing up my I-129F. My fiancee is with me in America now under the visa waiver program. Our plan is to submit the I-129F package the day she leaves.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone ever sent in evidence proving meeting in last two years that was translated by the petitioner or beneficiary?

The documents that I need to translate are about 8 hotel receipts that show clearly our names and the dates when we were there.

I know that this is not the best way to do things but I really dont want to pay someone to translate documents for me since they really dont need to be translated.

2. My fiancee is with me atm in America, what can we do in the next month that will prove without a doubt that we actually met? I thought about taking pictures with current newspapers showing the date. lol thats all I could come up with.

3. My third question is for folks that have dealt with the embasy in Rome. Im trying to get copys of what forms they use to send to the Italian citizen.

Thanks in advance folks.

Most cameras have a mode that allows it to print time and date on the picture, when I visited my fiance in China this past July we must have taken at least 200 pictures of us together.

About translating documents you can have a friend do it they just have to sign the translation at the bottom with a statement like:

I certify that I am competent to translate from [Language] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Signed:_______________

Address:______________

Telephone:____________

Date:_________________

Unfortunately I cant help with a list of documents that the Rome Embassy may send you in packet 3.

Some of the forms they will send are DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-158, They can be downloaded from Here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

DS-156 should be filled out on line then entered and then print out the bar code encoded form.

I hope this helps.

Tip:

Use Q18 of I-129F to describe in some detail of how you met in the required 2 year period that established the relationship. Then the evidence you submit should support those details. Boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel/credit card receipts, rental receipts if ever lived together etc etc are primary evidence. Photos are secondary which support the primary evidence. What you should be aiming for is creating an image in the minds eye of the adjudicator......a complete picture. Look outside the box for evidence that shows you both in the same place at the same time. Each case is different and you should submit evidence accordingly, not just rely on the standard unofficial list.

Follow YuAndDan's advice.

2. My fiancee is with me atm in America, what can we do in the next month that will prove without a doubt that we actually met? I thought about taking pictures with current newspapers showing the date. lol thats all I could come up with.

You can also try and take pictures of you guys in places with signs showing and public places that are easily recognizable.

From VJ guides:

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e). Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as ofoto.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.

3. Copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

3. My third question is for folks that have dealt with the embasy in Rome. Im trying to get copys of what forms they use to send to the Italian citizen.

A list of the forms sent in packet 3 to the beneficiary can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Naples

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
