Hello, I've been checking visa journey when starting to apply for applying 130 and 485, the website has been a great help :)

After preparing all the related files, We sent our 130 and 485 applications on May 6.

I was expecting for the check to be cashed within 10 days, but after two weeks and no news I guess I made some mistake when preparing for the application.

Four weeks and no news(no return package) I'm getting pretty nervous. I'm pretty sure that it was delivered at the proper address.

What if my pacakage will never return? Has anybody had the same problem? If the package doesn't return, do I have to prepare again from scratch?

I was wondering if any of you got your package returned, and was wondering how long it took.

It would be great to get some advice, I'm pretty worried and waiting is making me hopeless...

Thanks!

You might want to give more details about what you are going for. Are you applying for a visa for your spouse? What is 485 (I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status?) and why did you submit that?

Hi sorry, for not being more specific. Yes my husband is a US citizen so we filed the I-130 and the I-485 for aos for me(spouse of a us citizen). I came to the US as a F1 student visa, and we met here and also got married here in the US at march.

The lack of responce from USCIS doesnt mean anything is wrong. It is an indication of how busy they are. If you forgot to include some info you will get an RFE.

Make sure your name is in your mail box becuase whatever is sent will be sent in your name not the USCs. This mistake cost us two months in my daughters case.

Believe me many of us waited for what seemed like forever. Forever comes sooner than you think but not soon enough. The two months was due to our own ignorance but it turned out ok & we learned.

Many strange events happen along this journey. In searching for an answer to why her green card didnt come we ended up going to see USCIS. They told us the card had been returned but would be sent out again in 60 days. We made sure her name was in the mail box that day. The next day it arrived!

*** not an IR-1/CR-1 visa topic, moving to AOS/work/student/tourist forum ***

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
