It's only the petition which was approved. (Congratulations. :) ) The next stage is the visa application process. You're best to post over in the Philippines Regional Forum to find out what's involved in that and how long it takes. You still need to do a medical, etc, so it's going to take some additional time. You have a lot more forms to fill out yet.

The scenario you state here is ok. The visa expiration date has nothing to do with the timeframe in which you and your fiance must get married.

I can still adjust status after we marry even if the visa expired already by the time we apply/submit the packet to adjust status? It doesn't matter?

The visa is to allow you entry into the country to marry. At Customs & Immigration they will endorse that visa and then it will become null and void. Meaning it's done, finished, over. You will get an arrival/departure record, also known as an I-94. It will be stamped with an expiry date of 3 months from your entry. If you haven't complied with the terms of your visa.... which is to get married within 90 days.... then you must leave the US prior to your I-94 expiring. When you adjust status you will send them a copy of the I-94. They aren't interested in the visa anymore. It's been used.

That was tough huh? Wasn't it?hee.. Anyway, thank you. :)

I'm sorry. I do not comprehend.

Your 129 F is valid for 4 months. I've heard that there is an automatic 4 month extension in Manila but I don't know this for certain. You might want to have the petitioner sign a request for an extension in case you need it.

As far as I know the Manila embassy does not schedule appointments. They send a notice saying you are eligible to schedule the appoinment. It can be done on line or on the phone. I don't know how far in advance you can do this but I do know you have to pay the Visa fee before you schedule and that receipt is good for one year i believe.

You should check with the embassy on both these points.

As others have said the visa date is separate from the 90 days. If you travel anytime within the visa date your 90 days begins when you arrive in the U. S.

Good luck on your nursing exams and in arranging your times.

Thank you. :)

how long wld ur nursing exam b?is it online exam.

No, it's not online exam and can never be done through online, I should be physically present in the testing center for the exam. :)

U just shld take the opportunity u bn craving for.

Yes, I will take the oppurtunity I've been craving for-and that is to take a licensure exam for my career. I'm not craving for the K1 visa, I'm just very much grateful to Above that I met a very wonderful man to whom I can build a life together. It just happens that he is a USC. So, that's why we apply for I-129F cos he wants to take me to his place and because we do not want to be separated after we get married. :)

Ur visa is closer than ur exam, which can b done anywhere.

My Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam can be done anywhe in the PHILIPPINES only and not to other country/countries. :)

For me i will go ahead with my migration rather than tryin to shift

Thank you for your opinion. :)

Congrats! We also got approved really quick and like you we were not prepared. I was told by the embassy that you had up to a year to schedule your interview.. don't worry. We waited 4 months and by the time I did my medical and interview my noa2 was already expired but I did not have any problems. Goodluck :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Wow! Less than two months!!!

What was the basis for the expedited processing?

Maybe because of my fince's deployment. He just sent a letter to immigration informing them of his new address, he did not asked them to expedite it cos we're not ready yet but then all of a sudden, they sent a reply toggether with the hard copy of NOA2!! wow! how was that huh?!

You now have a taste of how incredibly mindless and unpredictable this overly ineffective bureaucracy actually is. :protest:

Best of luck on the rest of your journey.
