Thank you for this detailed info. I just want that when I travel to the US, we still have that about 90 days remaining to get married cos we want to make more plans on our wedding. Maybe I will just try to ask them then..

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Oh yes, no problem there- whether you immigrate the day after you get the visa or 6 months later, you have 90 days to get5 married.

Oh really???? I was so surprised for this big info to me... Really thanks a lot!!! I thought that 90 days is part of the 6 months validity of the K1 visa.... Wasn't it? Or does it says I should get married before the visa expires and should be within 90 days of my arrival?

The 90 day clock on getting married does not start until you arrive in the US. It's completely separate from the validity of the visa.

Okay, lets say I travel to US today, assuming I only have one week left validity of the visa and we decided to set our wedding date a month after I arrive in the US. Is this still okay to have our wedding date even though the visa expires as long as we marry within 90 days of my arrival???Please clear my mind on this, I don't completely understand.. Thank you for the info! :)

The scenario you state here is ok. The visa expiration date has nothing to do with the timeframe in which you and your fiance must get married.

Your 129 F is valid for 4 months. I've heard that there is an automatic 4 month extension in Manila but I don't know this for certain. You might want to have the petitioner sign a request for an extension in case you need it.

As far as I know the Manila embassy does not schedule appointments. They send a notice saying you are eligible to schedule the appoinment. It can be done on line or on the phone. I don't know how far in advance you can do this but I do know you have to pay the Visa fee before you schedule and that receipt is good for one year i believe.

You should check with the embassy on both these points.

As others have said the visa date is separate from the 90 days. If you travel anytime within the visa date your 90 days begins when you arrive in the U. S.

Good luck on your nursing exams and in arranging your times.

Woah,Just what everyone here is hoping.Quick Approval.Like its said,your interview date might just b quicker or longer.

I think you need have your Visa 1st.Go to the states and get married.how long wld ur nursing exam b?is it online exam.U just shld take the opportunity u bn craving for.

Ur visa is closer than ur exam,which can b done anywhere.For me i will go ahead with my migration rather than tryin to shift

Your visa is just to enter the US. It is a one-time entry visa, and will be null and void after you enter the US. You will then have the 90 days to get married. It has nothing to do with your visa expiration date.
