Hi,

I have a quick question. Do you need a Police Certificate or a carta de antecedentes no penales for Cd. Juarez? I know from reading in the forum that Mexico is unavailable to a get a police certificate but people still take in carta de antecedentes no penales to their interviews. Any information will be appreciated.

Thank you for you time.

No You do not need to get a police clearance certificate from Mexico on the list of countries you don't need one from since they are not possible to get.

And some people are getting it, so I decided to ask the consulate directly. I have their reply in writing saying no, it's not necessary for Mexico.

Have you gone atop any VJ page, clicked the links for "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy," and searched?

I'll transfer your thread to the Mexico/Latin & South America regional forum, in hopes of your getting an answer there.

Pssst... next time, it might be even better to start your own new thread with your query -- folks can be thrown off by the age and seemingly "settled" nature of the preceding correspondence. :)

I know this is an old post but I want to know:

at the interview do they ask for the antecedentes no penales?

If so, where would my fiancé in Mexico have to go to get it?

Thanks!

according to the post above the answer is NO you don't need it but providing extra stuff to increase your chances is always optional but not recommended it's better to provide only what they ask you for.

U.S. petitioners don't need police certificates, nor does the U.S. provide one. Everything that Immigration needs to know, they can find out.
