My wife is a small asian lady who has a figure that does not match too many american girls. We are having a hard time finding jeans(pants) to fit her. Maybe some ladies living here in USA can suggest where to look. We live here in Indiana. Please and thank you!

Any place they sell juniors size clothing will probably have clothes to fit her. My wife likes L.E.I. jeans.

Have you tried the teenage or junior department of your local department store. They are more apt to have size 1 & 3 or in Ladies 2 & 4.

Abercrombie & Fitch sells size 00 also...check out Hollisters...the lower-end of A&F (although the price is really not that low  ). Banana Republic and JCrew has a petite clothing line too. for shirts and shorts to wear at home...my sister buys at the teen section too...but i refuse to do it.

Claudeth has the same problem, she is 4'8" and weights about 90 pounds. Even in the junior section it is difficult to find things she likes. Shoes are even worse, not many places carry size 4. She have found a couple of places in down town Santa Ana that cater primarily to Mexican women but we are still having difficulties with finding shoes!

Trent and Cathy,

Same experience as most of the others - shop in the petite, juniors, and teen sections.

Trent,

I live in Indianapolis, IN and I used to have the same problem as your wife until I discovered the wonderful world of kids' sections. Most of my jeans and pants are either size 14 or 16, depending on the label. It's not a perfect fit (waist is still loose but the length is just right, lol), but definitely more comfortable than regular women's pants that are way too long for me.

If you want specific stores in Indy to take your wife to, have you tried Kohl's yet? I found some petite clothes there. I also found out that even within the Petite range, there is such a thing as Petite Short, Petite Medium, Petite Regular, etc.:lol:

I have the same problem as your wife does. I also don't like to shop at junior or kid section, mainly because they mostly have casual teen's styles and it's difficult to find formal clothing there. From my experience, American Eagles is the best for jeans, you can go to their stores and they have pants starting from 0-petite, sometimes 00. Oh, and I must warn you, petite here in US does NOT mean small, it just means "short". So if you go to stores like TJMaxx or Kohl's, you might find petite sections but they usually only have petite-4 or -6 and above, mostly petite-10/12 which is waaayyy too big for most Asian women but more average for American women that are short. I would go to Sears for shirts and dress-pants, or maybe Target. What I often end up doing is buying a regular-2/0 pants at Target and cutting them up myself according to my height and sewing them. I know it's not very practical but it's better than not being able to find anything.

I notice that more high-end stores (Macy's, Bloomingdale, Banana Republic, etc) carry small sizes (such as petite-0/2) but they are a bit spendy.

For shoes, I like Payless Shoes Store, they usually have wide range of sizes for women, starting at 5. You can also order online and find more size-5 shoes there if you cannot find the ones that you like in the store. It's a bit tougher if she needs size 4 since anything below 5 is considered kids size here I believe.
