K1 App - Criminal with Same Name as my Fiance

I am the USC, and I am in the process of preparing my I-129F package. My fiance lives in Belize City, and his name is the same as a well-publicized criminal from San Pedro, Belize. My fiance and the criminal have different birthdays, different middle names, and do not look alike. The criminal was wanted for a murder in Belize, until September 2010 when he was killed by police in Honduras.

When I submit my I-129F, will this common name issue delay my application at USCIS? What about at the Belizean Embassy stage?

No doubt his name will generate a "hit" at some point (or many points) in the process. The best you can do is provide as much information as possible in his G-325a form (details of work locations) However, none of us can say what USCIS or NVC or the consulate will do. If they will pass it off as "not THAT John Dillinger" or if they will turn it over for manual checks to the FBI. It is their call. Any and/or ALL of the departments along the way do their own background checks and make their own decisions.
