Hello everyone,

My husband's biometrics appointment is scheduled next month here in Tampa, but he is in Chicago for three months doing sales. What is the best route to take? I need the ability to reschedule in September when he returns. How do I let USCIS know this? On the letter it says to mark the check box to reschedule. Can we choose a time to reschedule or does this work soley on their terms? He cannot do it in Chicago because he has absolutely no time during the day except Sunday to do so.

Help! Thank you everyone!

Heather

We had the same problem. They scheduled my husband for June 15th, the week of our honeymoon. This makes me so angry.

Anyway, he went in today to see if he could do a walk-in instead, and of course they were really rude and said they don't do walk-ins at our scheduled center, so they sent in the request for a reschedule. I'm so scared they'll reschedule us weeks later!

Has anyone rescheduled their biometrics? Do they reschedule you within a reasonable time frame? I really don't want to have to wait an extra month over this.

It depends on the center. If its busy it could be months away, if its not a busy one then it could be rescheduled as little as 1 week later.

I remember 1 VJ member who needed to reschedule their biometrics and needed to have it a month later but they gave them a date in the next week so they had to reschedule it again.

It's a shame that a walk in could not be accommodated since the biometrics takes all of maybe 2 minutes and its all on a computer. But yeah, they do it on their schedule. My wife's AOS interview was scheduled in Feb. Due to a pending snow storm ( which never arrived BTW) they rescheduled her 5 weeks later and there was no way I could get it sooner. Guess they were just booked up.

Thank you everyone, but my original question is if there is anyway to reschedule it 3 months later, as he cannot access any service center while he is working. Please let me know if you know how I can request that kind of thing or if it is possible. I do not mind that they schedule it out several months.

Thank you for your help!

It says it on the biometrics notice how to reschedule. I would write on the notice "please reschedule to September" but I don't know how they would feel about tat as it throws their processing times WAY off and means your file has to sit around waiting action (and I don't know whether they're okay with your file sitting around so long). Why doesn't he attempt a walk-in before he leaves or while there? It might save a lot of hassle.
