Next step would be to prepare all necessary documents for AOS.

IV fee will be generated within the next couple of days and once you pay, and the status changes to PAID, prepared the documents for IV as well and mail them together in one envelop (Seperate IV and AOS inside the envelop, make sure they are distinct.)

Out of many, one helpful document I found is: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_Do_I_Bring_My_Spouse_(Husband_or_Wife)_to_Live_in_the_United_States%3F and you should started reading from step 2.3.1 (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_Do_I_Bring_My_Spouse_(Husband_or_Wife)_to_Live_in_the_United_States%3F#TRACK_1_-_I-864)

Good luck

Yes , I do have the printed Bar Coded cover sheet for AOS package. I am just checking here do I need to send this separately or both AOS + IV Package together in one envelope with both having its own envelope inside.

Hello Humtum/Manavv/Miss191209

One thing I have learned from my personal experience, there is nothing called "Sure" on this journey. Just because something worked for someone, doesn't mean that's the sure way. Still we look for some guidance and then use our own judgment based on others experience. Now if NVC states that "IV will only get generated once you send AOS", I am not sure how correct that is either. Therefore, from my personal experience this is what happened:

1. Day 1 I got the AOS fee and paid it right away

2. Day 2, the status was changed to PAID, and the same day I sent the AOS packet

3. Day 4, I got the IV invoice and paid it right away (by the way, the AOS package went to NVC the same day, but the time stamp in FedEx was after the invoice was generated)

4. Day 5, the status was changed to PAID and sends the package the next day.

The slight hiccup I had with sending them separately was this:

AOS was received on date x and the when it was reviewed by NVC, they issued an RFE for missing documents. So when all off a sudden I found the AVR is saying so, I called NVC and told the operator what happened. She explained that if I have sent the IV already, I should not worry about the RFE as it would be in their queue as well and my AOS was already approved. I had to wait for 2 more weeks for 11 more days for the IV to be approved.

Not a big deal right? Comparing to this long trip, 10 days means nothing J

But if I sent the two separate envelops in one mail, then it would get cleared on the first attempt. That's what I assumed from this experience. Others might differ. :P :P :P

Usually 'availability of IV fee bill to be paid' at the online payment portal

is tied to

'DS-3032 put in the casefile'

ie - once the DS-3032 is physically added to the casefile, and the internal casefile status 'set', then NVC is ready to do IV intake.

Thanks Darnell: This makes sense though. AOS is for the Petitioner and IV is supposed to be paid by the Beneficiary. So once the DS-3032 is done and the agent of choice is identified, it would let the agent pay for the beneficiary. Thanks for the clarifiation
