I looked at the odesk.com website. I think I'd use it if I had a couple of hours to kill each day anyways but other than that, it doesn't really apply to me.

amaloveskofi - some employers will ask in their job posting to email your resume and a cover letter. Their email is listed in the add unless they want you to come and fill out an application at their location.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

You can look out online writing jobs website in order to find writing jobs. You have plenty of chance to fetch the jobs directly from clients.

I have friends who are working in odesk..they took the oDesk Readiness Test for Agency Contractors for them to be qualified to apply a maximum of 15 jobs per week..at first they earn a minimum of $1/hour on data entry jobs, order processing etc since they are new to odesk..and now they earn a minimum of $15-35/hours...

how long did it take them to get up to 15-35/hour?

Hi, I have a question regarding oDesk. I currently have two contracts running in oDesk right now. I just recently started few weeks ago... My question is, they are asking for W9 form in order to request for your payment. Does that mean you have to file your own taxes later too? I actually never had a job since I moved here :P and oDesk is my first job.. (while waiting for a real job)

How does oDesk work regarding in filing your taxes? I'm a bit confused...

Well, you're considered self employed, so you're responsible for filing your own taxes. At the end of the year if you work over $600, odesk will send you a 1099 by Jan. 31. Odesk can file with the IRS on the client's behalf or the client can do it themselves. Maybe the link below can answer some of your questions. If not, you can also talk to a live person. Check out the Help Center on odesk. All the best!!
