Hello all,

I'm a bit concerned because the Ghana Embassy received my approved petition from the NVC on 5/10/11, and I haven't received an email from them. When I call, there is never an answer. The phone just rings and rings, is this the normal process. Has anyone else had trouble reaching them by phone. How long does it take to get an email, so my fiance can pick-up packet 3 and 4. Can she just go there if I give her the case number.:whistle:

hello there,

after the embassy receives you case,it needs additional 30days or more to review it before sending you a call in letter to pick up your app package. in my case i called dos after 30 days and they told me the embassy has mailed a call in letter to me.uptil now i hae not received the letter. just after getting that info from dos i emailed the embassy and they replied within 7days with a letter asking me to present it at the gate before i will be allowed to get my package. i will advise you email the embassy right away bcos you will never receive that letter they claim they mailed.

hope this will be helpful.

Yes, email the embassy and ask them to email you when the packet is available for your fiance to pick up. My fiance also never received the letter, but I emailed and asked them to send it to me, too, and they did.

They don't answer visa inquiries by phone at all, but you can email them. A response can take anywhere from days to weeks.

Psalm 20:5

1/01/2007 - First date

2/04/2010 - I-129F sent

2/08/2010 - NOA1

3/30/2010 - NOA2 Approved!!

4/07/2010 - NVC received

5/12/2010 - Packet picked up/interview date assigned

10/25/2010 - Finally back in Ghana to visit!

11/01/2010 - Interview--mostly positive, but consular officer requires cosponsor

11/24/2010 - 3rd appt.--Finally have all documents in. Result-Administrative Processing! Consulate says they will contact my fiance

05/18/2011 - Admin processing complete! Babs is asked to appear at the embassy on the 25th.

05/25/2011 - En route to the embassy, Babs is robbed on the roadside. His passport and other papers are all stolen. After filling out a police report, he arrives at the embassy a little late, and they allow him in to speak to the CO, even though he has no valid ID. Thank God! The CO gives him another appointment on June 15th, to bring a new passport and also an updated police certificate.

06/14/2011 - New passport (expedited) ready.

06/15/2011 - The CO finds a missing stamp on the new passport. Sends Babs back to the passport office and tells him to return in the afternoon. All is taken care of. VISA APPROVED!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!

06/24/2011 - Visa pick up date--told to return on the 30th.

06/30/2011 - Babs returns but doesn't get the visa. Back in AP!

10/05/2011 - Embassy brings Babs back with updated medical. Approved!! CO sets pick-up for only 2 days away, so as not to delay him any longer.

10/07/2011 - VISA IN HAND!!

Thank you for the responses they were very helpful because our approved petition left the NVC on May 13 2011 and I have not heard anything from the Ghana embassy. How do you even find out if or when they received it from NVC?

BTW what email address are you guys using? When you actually receive a response? I just want to know if it is the same one I currently have thanks for all replies.:whistle:
