Me and my husband filled for my visa almost 3 months ago and haven't heard anything back. They cashed our cheque and that was it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips at all. we have a son together and i really want him to be with his daddy. My husband is going to write a letter to the senator of Washington he said that she comes to the coast guard base there all the time and helps out coast guard members. so I'm hoping she can help even if it's a little bit.

I know it is difficult, we waited 178 days and I counted each an every one of them. You are still within normal processing so not much anyone can do. I know the child wants to see his father but it is all about waiting right now.

This process will take abour 8-10 months to complete, keep your chin up, this process does end

FYI - you know you'll be interviewing in Montreal correct?

good luck

The best tip you can be given is to learn to have patience as you go thru this long difficult process. Three months is just the begining. Begin to worry a 6.

The USC can request help by his Senator after 5 months. All politicians have web sites with links to the immigration staff. They all require a form to be sent in with some basic info before they will do anything. They can do very little really but you will feel you must try. They will take about a month to tell you youre case is in process.

Have the USC ask them to send a copy of the Senators voting record on immigration reform. Ask what the last action they took on that issue & when they did it. Have the USC ask to speak to the Senator. That is when you will see the actual value of trying to get help from these politicians.

i don't know we have gotten our NOA1 yet my husband is the one getting all the stuff in the mail. I know it will end eventually and i my husband was informed of the Montreal interview which really bums us out because my husband is on military salary he doesn't make much the only reason we were able to pay for the stuff to be sent in was because of Christmas so i have no idea how were suppose to pay for a trip to Montreal from Vancouver.

Maybe he can get some kind of loan or borrow from family?

The medicals and the visa fee and the trip+ stay in Montreal will be costly. Not to mention the 1070$ aos fee once you enter the USA, if you indeed did file for a K-3 and are not doing a CR-1.
