Going to SSA office tomorrow and when filling out the ss5 form when asked what type of alien she is can anyone confirm whether it is – #1-“ Legal alien allowed to work” #2-“ legal Alien Not allowed to work” or #3- “Other” . Thanks in advance – Ty

If your wife is allowed to work then #1 if not then #2.

Timeline

Have you done AOS yet and she receive her GC then she is able if not then she is not able to work. Also if you have married already you will have to wait for AOS to get SS. Not sure what stage you are on because your Marriage date is before your POE but you did a K1 so not sure if that is a typo. Good luck hope the rest of your process goes smoothly

Legal alien allowed to work. Your wife is legally able to work WITH authorisation (which a K1 is able to get). Some other visas aren't able to get the work authorisation until they adjust status so they would put "legal alien not allowed to work".

K1's are legally able to work (once they get their EAD) so put 1.
