My middle name on greencard was incorrect, does anyone on the same situation? Did you call the uscis and what did they tell you? Are they going to send another card or have to file a form for it?

Thanks!

If you can prove (through your copies of the I-485 application) that the error was on their part, they will send a new GC for free (after you file for a replacement.) I don't know how quickly it will be but it will be free. If it is due to an error on the application, they will charge for a corrected GC.

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

All my papers from the beginning have the same middle name on my work permit/ssn but i dont know what happened on this one. File for a replacement? You mean the I-190? Even if you call them on phone and report about the error, do i still have to file a I-190 form?

Form I-90

If the fault of USCIS with proof it is their fault, then you do not have to pay the 450$ fee.

It can take around 6 months to get the replacement / fixed card.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

They did the same thing for my wife. They put her birth certificate middle name instead of her new married middle name. We claimed USCIS error and didn't send any fee. Her Social Security, EAD, and Military dependant ID were correct, but for some reason they changed it on the green card. It took a little over three months for them to correct it. What is bad, is that you have to send the incorrect green card back with the application for the new one. So my wife was without a green card for another three months.

Yes, it happened to me in January. My GC had incorrect data. I had to file the I-90 form. It's been almost 4 months and unfortunately, I'm still waiting. :(

Some states apparently do not permit a middle name change without a court order. Sometimes USCIS won't allow the change if it isn't legal in the state in which you are applying.

Georgia is pretty good about that. When we got our marriage licence the clerk asked if my fiancee (at the time), wanted to change her middle name. The changed name on the marriage license serves the same function as a court order for the name change after marriage. At the AOS interview, the interviewer got hung up on the middle name issue. We saw her writing something in red but she never told us what she was doing. I am sure she was changing the middle name back to her birth cert middle name. In any case, USCIS didn't give us any hassle about correcting the card. Just takes forever.
