It's as if he was trying to run with a sort of ironic skewering of post-WW2 "kraut" stereotypes ("but I found out I'm German, so I guess I'm a Nazi and understand Hitler") before noticing it was going down rather horribly, and backtracking with the frankly cringeworthy profession "but come on, Hitler did bad things and I'm all for the Jews".

The trouble with this is that it rather betrays the initial sardonic sentiment that makes calling yourself a Nazi and a Hitler sympathizer not a completely loathesome declaration. I think he noticed the audience reaction and then rather panicked himself into a quandary.

"Persona non grata", then, in this light, seems a bit much, but tbh I'm not really interested in defending anyone who seems to revel impishly in the base frisson of contentious remarks and the shock they evoke.

And I do believe he knew precisely the knife-edge he was skirting. He's not an idiot - 'AntiChrist' was bloody terrific.

The crowd seemed to enjoy his humor... or confession, whatever it was.

 I'm thinking its a confession.

I agree, he knew the knife-edge he was skirting. I found it strange though he had no qualms about saying that Israel is a pain in the a s s.

I'm imagine a lot of people feel that way for a multitude of reasons.

The Hitler thing was so odd I though it to be part of a skit, the Anti-Israel thing is commonly expressed in street demonstrations and college campuses.

AS I posted yesterday, it seems to be growing or perhaps just getting more coverage in this country but it seems it has gone beyond the typical (if I may use that term) Arab circles.

Part of it is the typical Anti-jew thing but for many people, they are weary of the never ending "peace process" and with committing our blood and tax money to other peoples problems.

But the whole conflict is a pain in the a s s. I wish that we would send our money to other places. Most of what comes out of Israel anymore I dont pay much attention to. Its the same old story year after year.

Israel is a bit of a pain in the #### - that's just a political opinion.

Yeah not the same when you say it. You didn't just get done saying "you sympathize with him(Hitler) a little bit". To go on and say that Israel is a pain in a s s is more than just a political opinion, I think it speaks volumes about him.
