1 day and they approved ds-3032

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by telephone, mail, or email), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this occurs, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Wow, that was fast!

YES !!! And that is why it is so important to use the email approach rather than wasting your time with hardcopy.

I just can't imagine the days of immigration before internet. Man, those people had to have been tough as nails to go thru this then.

I should have menetioned that our 3032 was accepted less than 24 hours form the time we emailed it--we printed the form sent from NVC with Emma's name already filled in, we wrote in my address and so forth, she signed it, I scanned it and returned it to NVC, and voilá--we are on to the next step.

Oh so you sent in an actual scanned signature document? Not the template used on here to be used in e-mail.

Correct--the email from NVC implied that was OK, so I wanted to try it--I had the template as a backup if we hadn't heard anything for a few days. Here is the language from their email.

Please email the completed form DS-3032 to NVCInquiry@state.gov, or you may also submit the form by mail to the address below:

Got ya. This is good to know. I plan on having a signed hardcopy of DS-3032 just in case either the scanned document or e-mail template does not go thru.

Thanks Rick.
