Well, next time I start whining to myself that I can't do something because of some limitation or another, I'm going to sit down and watch this video again to remind myself that the only real limitations that are on me are the ones I put on myself.

This is a lovely performance by a young lady who only started to play the piano 3 years ago. " Souvenir D'enfance" by Richard Clayderman is not an easy piece to play. She plays it beautifully, with the sort of lyrical maturity not often found in youngsters new to their instruments.

Oh yes - she also has no fingers on her right hand.

This kind of talent in the face of such a handicap would be impressive in any country,

but the additional facts of her getting world-class instruction and as well as the

impressive reception she got in the media showed that China is our equal as a

first-world country, not just a wannabe up-and-comer.

China is not just displaying it's wealth but also it's vision, compassion

and solid backing for someone who wants to be the very best, despite

an almost insurmountable challenge.

It also didn't hurt that she is beautiful.

I remember in high school a girl who was always on the high honor roll

in academics also had the most beautiful voice imaginable. She frequently

sang at school assemblies.

Unfortunately she had a face that would make Susan Boyle look like Bo Derek.

That was such a long time ago that she would have had no chance at all as a singer.
