My fiance and I were approved for our K-1 fiance visa in Montreal on may 11th. We have been anxiously watching the usvisa website to see if my passport and visa are ready for pick up, but so far nothing! Shouldn't I have my waybill number by now? I am supposed to POE on the 29th, so I am starting to get worried. Who do I call/email to find out what is going on? Help!

Thanks!

You call DOS to ask them if the visa is printed. If they say yes then ask them if the visa is out for mail/picked up by DHL for delivery.

You should not have made any travel plans until you had the visa in your hand. You will not know if something on it is incorrect and needs to be fixed before you leave and you do not know if it will take long to get your visa out of the consul.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

What is DOS? I don't even know what that is.

And, thank you for the reply, but honestly, telling me that I shouldn't have made travel plans is not helpful or constructive at this point. The information I had recieved said not to book until I passed the interview. I figured 2 plus weeks was enough time.

VJ always says do not plan anything until the visa is in your hand.

With Montreal it is never enough time. It is frequently referred to as the Black Hole.

The Canada section on this forum has many pages of posters that have had to wait quite a while to get their passports back from Montreal.

DOS = department of state.
