I didn't know where else to put this, but as to American things that I'm in love with, there is a seasoning made in the Ozarks called Cavenders Greek Seasoning. It is delicious, and I will be sending it to my parents in Canada. If I ever left, it would go with me. (it's HP sauce good.. and I mean that!!) I just shake it on meat, or on potatoes or on eggs... salad... yum!

What I am going to miss the most when I move to Western NY is a decent selection of cheese and pealmeal bacon :(. I've checked Wegmens and Tops and they have nothing compared to what I have been buying..live in Toronto and am used to shopping at the St. Lawerance Market...sigh...that is one thing that I am really going to miss!

Oh wow. That is awesome!

I made my own, Huggles. :) Not sure how comfortable you are with modifying basic recipes, but if you purchase the Pepperidge Farm puff pastry (frozen section) there is a recipe on there which resembles a passion flakie. I used that as a guideline and made my own modifications. They turned out great!

topsecretrecipes.com used to have a lot of great recipes on ur favorite restaurants/fast food

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I have the same problem, Sherry. Very difficult to find here. Bread flour won't work because it has a much higher gluten content than cake flour.... even more so than All Purpose flour. I've read where you can substitute 2 TB of AP flour with cornstarch or arrowroot to reduce the gluten content. So you would take one cup of AP flour, remove two tablespoons, then add two tablespoons or cornstarch.

Failing that, they have it on Amazon.

Try to find the King Arthur brand of flour. I started using it on a recommendation of Kathryn on here and it works a lot better than the other brands. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it!

They carry it at my local grocery store, which doesn't have a good selection of anything so I'm sure you can find somewhere!

I use King Arthur as well. I was looking for a good flour for pizza dough, and King Arthur's has a pretty high protein count, which helps make the dough stretchy. Cakes you will want to use a lower protein flour. All-Purpose is on the higher protein side. http://www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-difference-cake-flou-74565
