Hi, first post here. My fiancée picked up her superpacket from the Interests Office in Havana last week and is currently scurrying around getting her police report and medical exam lined up.

Does anyone here have recent experience as to how long it will take to get the interview? I've heard varying stories, some people say there is a four to five month wait to get the interview. Thanks.

Dear El Musico (Bill?)

Make the appointment NOW. Here is the website where you can make it for her: www.havana.usinterestsection.gov/appspiv.html

My fiance just got his K1 on August 16. It was a three month wait from the time we made the appointment until he had the interview. So, my advice is to make the appointment right now. She will have more than enough time to get all of her stuff done.

El Musico,

Jnoble is right. Make the appt now because with each passing week the time to get an interview gets longer. The only reason why we waited is because Salva spent 9 years in Argentina and it was difficult to get the police cert on our own. When we applied for the Argentine police cert he was already back in Havana. We had to use a lawyer to get it for us. So please apply now then use the time in between to get ready.

Good Luck!!

Toria and Salvador

Met Salvador on internet dating website Dreammates.com April 2002

We decided to meet in person Buenos Aires, Argentina August 2002

1st K1 petition approved w/ interview date March 2004

Thanks for the advice, I went ahead and made the request on the website, and was stunned to see a reply in just four hours stating that her interview is set for Oct. 23! I was trading emails with my novia at the time, and I forwarded the consulate's email to her. For the next hour, we traded emails in all caps, shouting at each other in our excitement. It's getting close!

Thanks again.
