The "yes" camp fell flat on its face, because the Conservatives certainly didn't want AV, neither did a good part of the Labour Party. Only the Lib-Dems and those in the Labour Party who fear not getting back into government again were in favour.

Despite what you might think, a 2 to 1 majority is not the result of corruption, or some smear campaign. Neither is it because all the "No" voters read The Sun (who actually reads The Sun, anyway?). A majority that large comes down to one thing - the voters thought the proposal was a bad one.

And look at it this way. The Conservative Party kept their word and brought it to a referendum, which is more than Labour ever did. The Lib-Dems knew their coalition partners would campaign against it and chose to roll the dice. That's politics.

The AV system that was proposed was a bad one. There are much better systems that are used even within the UK itself. The LibDems are being such woosies. Clegg is a joke.

Clegg is not a joke, you just have to understand how his political mind works. If he says he will vote against something it really means he is all for it and vice versa. Simple.

He's just presided over the poorest lib dem local council elections in the party's history and sat back while the Tories have used Liberal Democrat MPs as stooges to deliver bad news.
