Hi Everyone,

I am wondering if anyone out there has had a similar problem as me and can hopefully offer me some help.

My POE was Chicago and I arrived two weeks ago. The immigration officer gave me the arrival and departure record from my I94. I have now found out that he should not have given me the Arrival record part back. So now I am trying to return the arrival record of the I94 to the correct place. I have lost track of who I have called, but basically I was told by CBP in Chicago to send it to Terminal 5 at Chicago airport. I found the address online and sent it there....it got sent back by the postal service stating that i needed a PO Box number. So, I called back CBP in Chicago who couldn't find an address for me to send it too, and then directed me to someone else who told me to just resend the card to the same address I had sent it to before...which doesn't make sense since it wasn't correct the first time. He then said if I wanted I could send it to Milwaukee CBP because I am in Wisconsin. He said I could send it to Chicago or Milwaukee because it doesn't matter. Some how I think it does matter where I send it and since I don't want any future problems I want to make sure it goes to the right place. Has anyone had an issue like this or know where I should sent the arrival record to?

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

When you fill out the I-94 they detach the "departure" record from the I-94 and put it in your passport, however, he detached the "arrival" and "departure" record and put them in my passport. They need the arrival record for their records and I need to hand back the departure record at AOS. Apparently there shouldn't be any issue with this as long as I get it back to them.

Was this your entry on your K1 visa or just a visit? I don't know exactly what is going on, but I know they've made the VWP paperless, so maybe they're doing the same with all entries, in which case I-94s won't be important any more.

You put it in your right hand (or the left one if you are left-handed), and give it to the I.O. at the AOS interview.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
