Hong Kong Police report - need to vent

Sorry guys - just need to vent.

When we filed our I130 we knew we had to obtain a Hong Kong police report and they are pretty strict on the requirements so we obtained an approval letter at the time we lodged our i130 from the consulate (Sydney Consulate was so fantastic). We then sent everything to a friend in HK and they walked in our request 3 weeks ago with the proper HKD payment into the police department (as we heard on this wonderful forum that foreign CCY can take up to 45 days to clear from HK). We emailed the Hong Kong police department today and they said "oh we are just processing it TODAY and it will take 4 weeks from NOW).

I just can't believe this - we have sent everything into the consulate and are ready for the interview but ONLY need this report. We are beside ourselves as me (the USC) and our 3 children are leaving for the US on June 3rd and was hoping that my husband would be joining us or at least just a week or two behind us.

UGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Their policy says they will issue the certificate within 4 weeks of application. You could try calling and bring this to the attention of a supervisor. My wife's CNCC was delivered in about 35 days from the day she applied.

Thanks ! We did contact them and they said they made a mistake and will issue the report on June 10th. Not the best - if indeed it's issued on the 10th it will be 7 weeks from applying. It's still better than 10 weeks in total.

Thanks for everyone who 'listened' to my rant !!!
