My wife entered the USA on Sept 6 without any problems other than a delay at Chicago O'Hare. Her first order of business has been to clean/organize our home the way SHE likes. I thought she was supposed to get her green card in a few days, but they told her at POE that it would be about 2 or 3 months?

It should not take as long as a couple of months or as soon as a few days; more likely within a month. Watch for the welcome letter which will have a receipt number that allows you to track the production of the green card on the USCIS site. :)
