Well --- I just checked the USCIS website and they approved our I-129F Petition and mailed confirmation on May 19th, 201. I feel my first sense of relief :)

I know there are more hurdles but I'm still happy and excited.

Any advice on the next steps would be greatly appreciated.

What papers could I start preparing for my fiance and his interview in London?

How long does it usually take the case to get to London? And then how long until they make contact with him?

He is actually here visiting right now!!

I'm just so darned excited!!!!

Thanks,

Brandy

Congrats!!! :D The case will be sent to your embassy after a brief stop at the NVC (anywhere from a few days to a few weeks it seems). You can start calling the NVC to try to get your case number. Once the embassy receives your case, they will send out packet 3 to your fiance. You can find info here on your embassy - http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United%20Kingdom&cty=London

When would you suggest I call the NVC to get my case number?

The website says they mailed me the approval on May 19th ... but it's not in my mailbox yet. It might be there today when I get home.

Thanks,

Brandy

Give them about 5 or 6 business days after you got your email notice. Ours took 6 and then another 4 to get to the embassy. Our packet 3 was received about 3 weeks after our approval email notice from Vermont. You can send the packet 3 paperwork anytime after London has logged your case number. The previous link listed gives you all the info in the packet 3 letter. Also, you can schedule the medical as soon as you have a case number. It has no bearing on the packet 3 paperwork. Once London has all of packet 3 and the results from the medical, they will schedule the interview (they are a bit backlogged on this step right now and taking a few extra weeks). Good luck!
