anyone here who filed AOS past I-94 expiration & didnt encounter any problems?

07/12/2011 - NOA1 for EAD & I-845 via email

07/13/2011 - Personal Check Cashed

07/12/2011 - NOA1 notice date(email)

07/18/2011 - NOA1 for EAD & I-485 hardcopy & Biometrics received in the mail

08/11/2011 - Biometrics Appointment--DONE!

08/19/2011 - Interview Letter/Notice sent

08/31/2011 - EAD card/document production ordered

09/06/2011 - EAD case touched

09/12/2011 - EAD received!

09/21/2011 - AOS Interview-APROVED ON THE SPOT/email notice: GC productionn ordered, approval notice sent

09/26/2011 - AOS Approval Notice/Welcome Notice received!

09/30/2011 - Got my GC in the mail today!

It doesn't matter even if your I-94 is expired. You'll be fine :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

It's okay but try to file ASAP so that you don't accumulate too much out-of-status days.. You're not too late, you just entered the US a month before me.. When do you plan to file?

My Journey:

There's no point in worrying because its already expired. Just file ASAP. You'll be fine :)

It's OK to file after the I-94 date but don't wait forever. In addition to the problems associated with not having current, valid identification, there will come a point where it will cost you much more to file because the medical will be expired (more than 1 year before AOS filing date) and you'll need a new one with a Civil Surgeon here in the U.S. and, after more than 180 days, you probably will have to file an I-130 and pay the associated costs in addition to the $1070 for AOS.

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

My husband entered the US in April of 2010. We were going to file in August but our co-sponsor backed out. It took us a while to get a new one and we couldnt file until January 2011. His medical expired in February but we still received his GC this May. At the inerview we were asked why it took us until January to apply. I would suggest applying as early as you can. We may have just gotten lucky.
